THERAPEUTIC
ART COACHING

A sacred journey of self-discovery through creative expressioN, Healing, and Transformation.

Art Therapy is a Non-Clinical experience that uses the healing power of creative expression as a gateway to deeper self-awareness, release, and renewal.

My approach is rooted in the African ancestral worldview of Sakhu, it honors your spirit as central to your healing, not just your mind.

Artwork: ‘I Trust My Inner Guidance’ (2024)

In ancient Kemet, the term Sakhu signifies "the illumination of the soul." This profound concept serves as the cornerstone of my non-clinical Art Therapy practice. Through this offering, I aim to provide a sanctuary where you can reconnect with their inner truth, restore balance, and cultivate healing in mind, body, and spirit.

In this space, art becomes more than aesthetic—it becomes medicine.

A way of remembering.

A spiritual conversation.

A path back to yourself.

Whether you are navigating grief, identity shifts, emotional wounds, or a desire for deeper purpose, these sessions are designed to hold you in a space of compassionate witness and creative freedom. You do not need to be an artist. You only need to be willing to listen to the quiet truth that lives within you.

My Approach

This is not traditional psychotherapy. It’s not about diagnosis or pathology.

You will be gently guided through sacred, art-based experiences that allow you to:

  • Express emotions that words cannot capture

  • Reclaim buried or forgotten aspects of your identity

  • Access inner guidance and clarity

  • Release energy and trauma stored in the body

  • Cultivate self-compassion, presence, and spiritual insight

Each session is a return to wholeness—through paint, poetry, drawing, movement, and intuitive ritual.

Who Is This For?

This is for you if:

  • You are on a healing journey and crave deeper spiritual integration

  • You feel disconnected from your purpose or inner voice

  • You are seeking culturally-rooted, decolonized healing spaces

  • You’re going through a life transition, loss, or spiritual awakening

  • You long to creatively express emotions and truths you cannot speak

  • You want to explore art not as a skill, but as a sacred language of the soul

No artistic experience is necessary. All that’s required is your openness.

FAQ’s

  • Therapeutic art is a guided creative process that helps you explore your thoughts, emotions, and inner experiences using visual art — like drawing, painting, or collage. It’s not about artistic skill or making “perfect” art, but about using creativity as a tool for reflection, healing, and self-discovery.

    Through therapeutic art, you can:

    • Express feelings that are hard to put into words

    • Gain insight into your personal journey

    • Connect with your inner wisdom and calm

    • Nurture a deeper relationship with yourself

This is a non-clinical, supportive space — you are the artist, and you are the healer.

  • Therapeutic arts serve as a powerful modality to facilitate subconscious programming because they bypass the analytical mind and engage directly with our emotions, memories, and innate creativity. Here’s how they work to heal and connect us with our identity and purpose:

    1. Accessing the Subconscious Mind

The process of creating art engages the subconscious mind by putting the creator into a meditative or "flow" state. In this state, deeper truths and buried emotions often emerge without the interference of the conscious, critical mind. This can reveal patterns, traumas, and hidden aspects of the self that need acknowledgment and integration.

    2. Symbolism and Archetypes

Art naturally incorporates symbols and archetypes, which are universal languages of the subconscious. Through intentional creation—like drawing ancestral symbols, mandalas, or intuitive imagery—individuals can communicate directly with their subconscious and ancestral memory, unlocking deeper knowledge about who they are and their life’s purpose.

    3. Embodying the Authentic Self

Artistic expression often mirrors the unfiltered self, creating a safe space to explore identity. By externalizing feelings and internal experiences through art, individuals can reconnect with their core values, cultural heritage, and ancestral roots, fostering self-awareness and authenticity.

    4. Reprogramming Limiting Beliefs

Therapeutic arts can be used to reframe and rewrite mental narratives. By creating visual affirmations, depicting one’s higher self, or illustrating a desired reality, individuals can implant new, empowering beliefs into the subconscious. The act of repeated creation embeds these new mental constructs.

    5. Facilitating Emotional Release and Healing

Art provides an outlet for emotions that are difficult to articulate. By expressing pain, joy, or confusion through colors, shapes, and textures, individuals can release stored emotional energy, freeing up space for healing and spiritual growth.

  • An art therapy session typically follows this structure:

    1. Check-In: Begin by discussing your current feelings, any recent experiences, and setting intentions for the session.

    2. Art-Making: Engage in creative expression using various materials.

    3. Discussion: Reflect on the artwork and the emotions or thoughts that emerged during creation. This dialogue helps in gaining insights and connecting the art to personal experiences.

    4. Closing: Conclude with a brief activity or discussion to help transition back to daily life, ensuring you feel grounded and supported.

Each session is tailored to your unique needs, focusing on the process of creation rather than the final product.

  • Yes. All sessions and materials shared are kept completely confidential. Your privacy, safety, and trust are held with deep care and respect.

  • A basic art kit is usually sufficient—paper, pens, markers, colored pencils, or any materials you enjoy using. I’ll occasionally recommend specific materials depending on the session, and will let you know in advance if so.

  • Not at all! Therapeutic art is about expression, not perfection. You do not need any artistic skill or experience—just a willingness to explore. The focus is on process, not product.

  • You will be given access to a client portal that includes a private reflection space and session notes, where you can document insights, upload creative work, and revisit key takeaways. Together, we’ll set gentle intentions and revisit them over time to reflect on your growth—both visually and emotionally.
