THE ATTUNEMENT
20” x 30" | Charcoal, Acrylic, Gouache and Gold Leaf on Archival Paper
‘The Attunement’ is a meditation on spiritual alignment, a visual prayer that explores what it means to be in communion with something greater than the self. Spiritual attunement, across many traditions, speaks to the process of aligning with divine frequency—tuning into the wisdom, harmony, and presence of a higher power. This connection is often nurtured through prayer, meditation, and ancestral or devotional practice.
This piece emerged from a deeply personal and liminal space, as I found myself suspended between two spiritual inheritances: the Christian faith of my upbringing, and the reawakened call of my ancestral spirituality. It was within that tension—and eventual harmony—that The Attunement was born.
The central figure resembles a nun, her expression serene, her gaze inward. In her hands, she holds prayer beads that fuse sacred symbols: the Tuareg cross and the Ankh. These are not just ornaments, but sacred technologies—reminders of lineage, life, protection, and continuity. The golden halo that surrounds her signifies the awakening of divine consciousness, illuminating her path.
To the left of the figure, celestial and spiritual motifs drawn from multiple traditions suggest the universality of the search for the divine. To the right, a channeled prayer flows in automatic script—words that arrived in a moment of deep communion with Spirit.
This piece is an offering and an invocation—for anyone navigating the thresholds between worlds, traditions, or ways of knowing.
